Yoyoyo!

Malo soifua!!

What a great week! Working hard! Trying our best to progress and follow the Spirit! Yeah!!

We had our first ever Sisters Conference on Sunday-Monday in the Visitors Center (Pesega) all the sisters were there except for the ones in American Samoa and the 4 that missed their boat :( There was 20 of us there! and it was so amazing and very spiritually uplifting and it was great to be amougst all the sisters and President and Sister Ho Ching! They are the best! And Monday morning Sister Ho Ching instructed us through some yoga! Haha much needed and great conference! Oh and I got to see my 1st soa Sister Leakehe!! I love her so much we talked all the way home about everything we are so similar in a lot of ways haha its great to know we are in this together!! haha

Then we went back to our area, but only for a few hours and then the Aps picked us back up to take my soa and I back to Pesega becasue the President gave us permission to go to my soas brothers endowment session! So we got to go to the TEMPLE Tuesday morning! I lovelovelove temples everything is so perfect and wonderful inside so much joy!! fav place on Earth! Very grateful I got the opportunity to go! (And two nights in a row with warm showers, A/C, less bugs, actually in a more normal house like thing) haha

One of our friends Melanie (24ish years old haha) she is so sweet and her testimony is growing so much!! She told us when she goes home to her parents on the weekends (she lives with some members during the week) she has to hide to read the Book of Mormon! That's so sad and shows her love haha we told her to talk with her parents fingers crossed! (we seem to run into a lot of barriers with parents...ugh haha like Porirua: he accepted the invitation to be baptized...but his parents were not so excited haha) We just must stay happy, hopeful, and pray!

I love you all!!

Lelei tele!

Malllloo!!!!!!!!

Another good week!! My soa and I are working hard and walking all over the place! Some hours of the day go better than others haha! we spent an hour walking everywhere to all our friends/referrals and they were all busy!! haha We've had some great lessons and Melanie one of our friends is loving it and has been going to church and all the activates! We are taking some of our friends a family of 4 plus the grandma to the Visitors Center in Apia! this trip is great for friends and really helps them understand the Restored Gospel better! Its cool!!

For p-day today we went to a dance/skit competition between all these high schools! It was a lot of fun and crazy haha I definitely got to see even more of their traditions and culture!!

We now have this thing called Friend Feeds where members sign up to feed us and it is every night!! oh. my. so much food!! haha Its a good thing I am both a Hymas and a Mobley! I got a stomach of steel! haha I have small lunches usually an apple and these banana chips (literally the only health and not proceed foods in these "stores" back here haha)

My motto I have developed out here on the mission and that I am always saying to myself is "Fear God more than man!" It is so true to live this way and be brave and obey God and all His commandments without caring about what the world thinks!! I was reading in PMG and there were all these great quotes about how we are all missionaries and it is all our responsibility to help share the gospel! I challenge you guys "Fear God more than man" by reading and following the council of these amazing Prophets and share the gospel with love and passion. (It's their gospel too) :D

Thank you for everything! Love you all!

ps. please pray for the misquotes to stop biting me!!

Fiafia!

Another great week full of missionary work!! haha

The family I mentioned last email are doing great!! He has been smoke free for a few days now and the read the scriptures, pray everyday as a family and go to church!! They are planning on getting sealed this Nov. or Dec. I hope I will be able to go! They are so grateful and going through a lot of great changes! Through their faith their life is turning around for the better!!!

We have a lot of great friends right now!! I love seeing God's children learn about the gospel and desire to follow Him! We are teaching a few different old ladies they are so sweet haha I love our visits with them! One of them was sick the other day so we read to her and my soa said this great prayer for comfort and help! Awwe!! My first aid kit also came in handy this week haha we bandaged this mans leg (Vili) that had a pretty good sized cut! The work is going great!!!

Oh and I don't think I have talked about food yet haha! My favorite is:
Palusami, Taro, Alaisa Fa'apopo, bread fruit, and of course Koko Samoa (I literally drink this everyday haha #liveswithmembers)

Have a great week!!

MAALLOO!!

Malo Lava!!

How is everyone doing? haha this week has been great!!! Lelei tele! My soa and I have been working hard and following the Spirit! I still have a lot of misquote bites and I'm living amongst the ants, cockroaches, spiders, and these little lizard geco things haha! Oh and let's not forget to mention the dogs...we get barked at everyday and one time almost got eaten by one! haha funny story! The people are great and we are making a lot of new friends in our new area Vaovai. I love meeting new people! I have such hope for them and see how the gospel can help change there lives for the better! Well, because the gospel is for everyone it's all our divine purpose! We must share it!! haha

Anyways, I must now get to the story of this amazing experience we had. We went to go visit this inactive family of four and they are super great! Our first visit we got to know them and learned that they have been wanting to get sealed in the temple for a long time and the actually attended stake conference this past week. But, the dad has a problem with the Word of Wisdom. He smokes these Samoan leaves to relieve stress. He had been through a lot of missionaries to try to help him and he hasn't seen any in awhile until we came just a few days ago. They were super excited and he was really wanting our help. So we came back the next day planning on just sharing a spiritual thought on families and temples. As we were there visiting these thoughts and ideas of what to do kept coming to my mind. They were bold things to do, but I knew without a doubt that they were promptings from the Holy Ghost. My bosom literally started to burn! haha that's the only way I know how to describe it. It was so amazing the Holy Ghost was burning inside me and I knew I had to do this. I turned to my soa and told her I'm going to share/do something bold and I need you to help me and then you can share your scripture. I took a deep breathe and them asked if I could see the leaves thing he smoke they were like okay.. went and got it and then I held it up and with my soa's help (language)  turned to him and asked "Why, would you let this little tin can with these leaves stop you from being sealed with your family for forever?" (as soon as I asked the question the burning left and filled the room and was there for the rest of the time so strong...I almost cried haha)
He then just got a concerned defensive look on his face and was like I wouldn't! nothing is more important to me than sealing my family! It's just that sometimes I get stressed and that relieves the stress"
I then promised him that if he reads the Book of Mormon and prays with his family everyday the desire to smoke will go away. I then shared the scripture Alma 34:34 and told him the time to change is now! I then turned to my soa knowing she would be able to expound, follow the spirit, and tie in her scriupture 3 Nephi 18:18-21! She's so great and said amazing inspired things. She used the picture of the temple and put it in front of the drugs and asked him if he would stop smoking? he said "...okay" She promised him and turned to me and I said "If you are ever stressed read the Book of Mormon." and then we stopped and looked at him. He was literally speechless he just sat there looking and us. When he finally started talking he said that really hit him hard! with tears in his eyes and that he needs to do this for him and his family he needs to be a good example and expressed gratitude.
It was such an amazing experience! I felt the power of wearing these badges representing Jesus Christ. I felt the power and authority of this calling work through us through the Holy Ghost. I am so grateful for our wonderful Heavenly Father for His grace, mercy, love, and plan! I wish I could tell you all in person! This gospel is so true! God loves us all so much!! We can all be strong as we rely on Him and the Savior for strength.💓

-Sister Hymas

p.s. sorry this is so long! I am so grateful for all of you and I hope this helps you be able to turn to the Book of Mormon and pray if you are going through anything at all in your life! I promise it's the greatest gift!
